A Quick Fix for Thirsty Skin

I have recently been struggling with my skin, in the sense that it seems to be overly shiny and this is not a good look by anybody's standards.

This shiny matter came up in conversation when I was having my make up done in my local department store. The make up artist was asking me about my skin which is when I
mentioned that my skin was shiny even though I was using skincare products that were supposed to reduce shine. Within this conversation I was given information that made me realise I was focusing on the wrong thing!

Rather than focusing on the fact my skin was shiny I should have been looking for the reason behind this, with the help of the make up artist I discovered that my skin is in fact dehydrated (probably due the unusually sunny weather we have been having in the UK this summer).

Skin cannot produce water therefore when it is dehydrated it produces more oil to compensate for the lack of water, I was advised to look for shine control products for my make up but for skin care I should be using hydrating products. With that knowledge I thought what better way to hydrate my skin than with a face mask, a perfect excuse to indulge in a little me time and pamper my skin.

During a visit to my local supermarket I came across a brand of  face masks called Quick Fix Facials. There were about 4 different ones to choose from but of course I went for the Mega Moisture Gel Mask for dry and thirsty skin...... Perfect!

I decided to use this mask once I had been in the bath, I figured this would be the perfect time to use it as my pores would be open from the heat in the bathroom and what better way to end a bath tub session than to pay my skin a little attention.

I applied the face mask as directed on the back of the tube, a thick layer all over my face. It is a rich creamy texture with a very faint, pleasant scent and is white in colour, no scary green face mask moment if your partner walks in! I left this for 10 mins as instructed, it stayed creamy and only dried a little in areas where it was thinly spread. Now on the back of the packaging it says to remove with warm water or a flannel, I tried firstly to remove this with warm water how ever this wasn't very successful and I began to get impatient so I grabbed a cellulose facial sponge and the mask was gone in seconds.

Afterwards my skin felt so soft and hydrated, my face clearly appreciated a little pampering.

I'm going to continue using this a couple of times a week. The packaging states there are 10 facials in the tube, I'd say that's probably pretty accurate judging buy the amount I used for one application and as I picked this up for about £4 I'd say that's a bargain!

I loved using this face mask and it didn't break the bank, do you use face masks? which ones do you enjoy using the most?
