Ramblings of a Beauty Blogger

Wooaahh, where did March go? I sat down with my laptop today and headed over to my blog, now I knew I hadn't blogged for a while but I didn't realise I hadn't blogged once in the month of March, oh my! I thought I would get back into the swing of things with this little chatty post.

In February I really felt like I had found my blogging feet and got a regular stream of posts uploaded throughout the month. It felt good, I was enjoying writing, uploading and reading through comments on my posts along with discovering new blogs along the way and interacting with other bloggers on twitter, but the truth is life got a bit crazy in March and I started to stress about not having a blog post to upload on the same days as I had posted previously and that got me thinking....

Life is unpredictable and with that comes smiles, tears, laughter and stress. My blog is my hobby and should bring me joy not make me worried. If your blog is your full time job then I guess it would stress you out at times, the same as my full time job stresses me out, but for me my blog is a chance to escape, have my say and interact with like minded people so why oh why was I stressing about not having a blog post prepared and ready to upload.

From this day forward blogging for me is going to be fun, just like hobbies are supposed to be. I'm not going to put pressure on myself to write a certain amount of posts per week as I think that is when the quality slips and you begin writing for the sake of writing, but don't worry I may not have  written a blog post for a while but the shopping hasn't stopped so I have plenty of material for future blog posts :)

So lovelies I've been away from the blog for a while but now I'm ready to get back into the swing of things. Do you write a blog as a hobby? How do you manage your blog between work, home, family & friends? Has blogging ever got on top of you? I'm sure I'm not the only one so I'd love to hear your thoughts, leave me a comment below or catch me on Twitter.

  1. I'm in the same situation as you, life got totally crazy in March for me too so my blog got pushed to the side, and rightly so in many ways. My priorities were with my studies so I had to remind myself to not worry about my blog....even if I felt guilty as hell. Not sure why I felt like that but I think there can be a bit of a stigma in the bloggy world that if you haven't posted in a while you mustn't really care about your blog....which of course is not true because like you, I use my blog to excape and talk about what I love which is the best fun ever! :)

    1. Hi Aisling, thanks for checking out my blog. Your studies should defiantly take priority over ur blog. I agree that there is a stigma in the blogging world especially if u dnt post the same amount of times on the same days each week but I'm past that now, in my opinion if I like reading a blog I don't stop just because that person has only posted once instead of their usual 3 times in a week. For me blogging is to be enjoyed, hopefully u will work past the guilt soon too. Fingers crossed for ur exam results btw! Lovely blog xx

  2. Blogging definitely gets on top of me sometimes, I try to blog a lot differently now to how I did at the start so it takes less time but I get everything done that I need to!
